Privacy Policy

WalkQuote ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Daniel Hohnloser, a sole proprietorship doing business as WalkQuote. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Who this applies to

This privacy policy applies to anyone using the WalkQuote iOS app, the WalkQuote website at walkquote.app, and any public quote viewer pages we generate (e.g., walkquote.app/q?id=xxx).

2. What data we collect

Information you provide directly

• Account info: name, email address, business name, phone number (optional)
• Voice recordings: the audio you record when creating a quote
• Quote data: client names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, line items, notes — whatever you enter or speak about while creating quotes
• Logo and business profile: any logo image and contact details you upload

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: which features you tap, when you create or send quotes, basic interaction patterns (used to fix bugs and improve the product)
• Crash and performance data: when the app crashes or performs poorly, so we can fix it
• Subscription state: whether you have a free or paid plan (managed via RevenueCat over Apple's StoreKit)

3. How your voice recordings are processed

When you record a job walkthrough, the audio is uploaded to our servers and processed by two third-party AI services:

• OpenAI Whisper — converts your voice to text (transcription only)
• Anthropic Claude — extracts structured line items from the transcript

Both services have their own privacy policies and do not retain audio for training. Once processing is complete, the transcript and extracted line items are saved to your account; the original audio is retained for 30 days for support purposes and then deleted.

4. How we store your data

All quote data, audio recordings, and account information are stored in Supabase, a managed Postgres + storage provider. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Your data is private to your account; no one else (including other WalkQuote users) can see it.

5. What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal data
• We do not share your data with advertisers
• We do not show ads in the app
• We do not use your voice recordings or quotes to train AI models
• We do not access your contacts, photos, or location (except job addresses you enter manually)

6. Public quote links

When you share a quote with a client, we generate a public URL (e.g., walkquote.app/q?id=xxx). Anyone with this link can view that specific quote. The link uses a randomly-generated identifier and is not discoverable through search engines, but you should treat it as you would any link you'd email — only share it with the intended recipient.

7. Subscriptions and payments

WalkQuote Pro subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store via RevenueCat. We do not see, store, or have access to your payment information (credit cards, Apple Pay tokens, etc.). All payment data is handled by Apple.

8. Your rights and choices

• Access: all your data is visible inside the WalkQuote app — quotes, settings, profile
• Edit: you can edit or delete any quote, line item, or profile detail at any time
• Export: you can export any quote as a PDF
• Delete account: contact [email protected] to permanently delete your account and all associated data within 7 days
• Cancel subscription: manage Pro subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions

9. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to know what personal data we have about you, request deletion of that data, and opt out of the sale of personal data. As stated above, we do not sell your data. To exercise your rights, email [email protected].

10. Children

WalkQuote is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
